Drama and privacy were the hallmark of this garage rooftop project in North Center. Frosted glass panels, large trees, and feathery grasses created a sense of seclusion and also provided a textured garden feel. The sleek bar and intimate seating created the perfect gathering spot around the fire table, extending its use well beyond Chicago’s typical rooftop season.

A modernized pergola with retractable shade also helped to maximize time spent outdoors for the client. With a built-in television and strategically placed lighting, the space was designed to offer entertainment day or night. This project demonstrated that a hip, private deck can be achieved regardless of the size of space available.
